A Weaker Season for the Lost City
As a spin-off of the long-running and popular "Stargate SG-1", the second live-action Stargate series was faced with the difficult task of maintaining the elements of its parent show while establishing its own identity. Season 1 succeeded and Season 2 deepened the characters and storyline of the Pegasus Galaxy. Unfortunately, Season 3 marks the point where the show, to put it in popular lexicon, jumped the shark. <br /> <br />Season 3 picks up where the Season 2 cliffhanger left off as the Atlantis Expedition launches a desperate attempt to stop their Wraith 'allies' from reaching Earth. The stories this season suffer due to a focus on individual, one-off stories. The Wraith are almost forgotten as they take a backseat to the introduction of a new adversary, who end up being little more than a rehash of one of SG-1's more dangerous foes. <br /> <br />Despite this, there are still good things to be found. "Common Ground" is easily one of the best episodes of the series and the return of O'Neill in "The Return" is fun. As with the earlier seasons, it also overlaps with the final season of SG-1 and events in Pegasus affect the Milky Way Galaxy and vice-versa. The effects and action are still top notch. Ultimately, but decisions are made in this season that do serious damage to the show and its characters, damage that "Stargate Atlantis" never really recovers from in its last two seasons. <br /> <br />Still, if you enjoyed Seasons 1 & 2, then head back through the gate.

Great series
My husband got me started on this series, about season 2 I think, very disappointed that it was cancelled. There is a new Stargate series that as of episode 4 I'm not that keen on, but I'll give it some time. Anyways, a great series, was easy to pick up on the storyline. Lots of action, drama and thrills, get seasons 1-5, a great watch!

Going through the Stargate
While I loved this product, it took nearly three weeks to get to me, which I thought was a little long. But i am so glad I got it.

The StarGate is out there!
After following the StarGate SG-1 seasons (all 10 of them, and the extra movies), I just had to dug into the spin-off series StarGate Atlantis. This is the third season, and a good question is: "Has the StarGate Atlantis series picked up the pace, drama and spectacularities just as theSG-1 series did?" Oh, yes - it sure has. There are some recurring themes, but also plenty of episodes with big surprises. But when it comes down to it - this is StarGate! And from my perspective, everything StarGate is great!
